TAF 2007 Day 2

I met up w/ voice actor Jennifer Sekiguchi, who was also attending TAF, and we headed over to the Big Sight convention center.

In the morning, we had a meeting w/ figure maker UART and the editorial staff of Comic Gum.
They’re working on the Ikki Tousen figure series together.
Later on we went over to the Mad House booth to talk to the producer about the Paprika resin georama statue. We had it on display at NY Comic Con, and it’s really nicely made. It’ll be available in the US soon, so Satoshi Kon fans can rejoice.

There were couple of other meetings (Fuji Creative, Hobby Japan), and then we had a meeting w/ folks of Square Enix. They’re attending San Diego Comic Con again this year, and they’re planning on putting together several promotions for their manga division at SD Comic Con. More info coming soon.

I was planning on spending the weekend shopping (staff wish lists), but I’ll be heading out to TAF on Saturday morning since Rune Angel Troupe will have a mini-stage event at the Broccoli booth.

Next week is meetings w/ publishers~

Are you referring to Square-Enix setting up a North America based Manga division? I know Square-Enix publishes manga in Japan.

  2. Shizuki says:

The Square Enix folks we talk to is from the Japanese manga division.

They were part of the San Diego Comic Con booth last year (2006), with several pillars showcasing their current manga releases in Japan.
