I’m a fan of Juvenile Orion (I loved the dust jackets, and box/pencilboard that was released for the series), Di Gi Charat (particularly Rabi en Rose and the Black Gemma Gemma gang!), and E’s. I’m also a fan of your sibling companies - AnimeGamers, Boysenberry, and SynchPoint (I love Tenshi ni Narumon).

I was brought into the Broccoli world when I saw a picture of Puchiko from Digi-Charat, she looked so cute I had to investigate who she was and what series she came from so I could either read it or watch it. Since then I’ve been following series from Broccoli. Also for the past 3 Anime Expos I have been stalking the Broccoli booth because their grab bags are awesome, and I always hope for Puchiko related items when I buy one.

Okay, so I don’t know if you’ll have anything from the uh-mazing Satol Yuiga, but I thought I’d give it a shot.

    b. What series you liked the most & why.
    -E’S~!!!!
Basically if you were to ask me to create your dream manga, it would be E’s. It has psychics, telepaths, an adorable main character, what more could you ask for. Kai and Eiji…mmmmm~!
    c. Anything to show that you’re a fan of Broccoli Books or a particular series we published.

This picture was taken last year, but it has most of my E’S stuff. Just missing the E’S World Extra book thing…

I love Broccoli Books and I’m going to miss you guys. I started reading Juvenile Orion and when it was over I started watching your title list and I became interested in Kamui. Those two series made me a Broccoli Fan but of all the titles you released I think I liked the action packed Kamui the best it’s hard for me to tell though… After watching E’s Otherwise I had been left with a lot of questions then you had announced you were releasing the Manga I was very interested in seeing if there were any differences between Manga and the Anime. I also followed your Boysenberry Line with Pet on Duty. I hope you all fair well in your next endeavor. Good Luck

  6. Michael Bove says:

okay so here is the reason why I am a fan of Broccoli Books

a.) I own all of the Galaxy Angel, Galaxy Angel Beta, as well as all the disgaea volumes(to date including 2). I have read most of AQUARIAN AGE - JUVENILE ORION Galaxy Angel Party, Galaxy Angel II, and Until the Full Moon
b.) This is the tough question, I cant really say that I had a favorite, but if I had to choose one series I would say the whole Galaxy Angel Series, it was really enjoyable to read it, it was funny.
c.) To show that I am a brocolli fan, I am not good at drawing and I am not good at writing poems, and interperitive dance seems out of the question, so what can I do? Broccoli, you were one of the first companies that started my interest in anime and manga with the publications of Galaxy Angel manga, and you also helped my brother out, buy printing the Disgaea manga, but you show us that life isn’t eternal, it will end eventually, but you bring hope that someday your legacy will come through other items wither it be Disgaea volume 3 published by someone else or the limited edition Galaxy Angel Milfie figure that is oh so kawaii. I hope that eveything goes well in the company as it wraps up its final days, and as the year comes to a close so will you, and while we look back at 2008 at the times, we also look forward to the future and see the light of hope and the silver lining, on the horizon. So I end this with a dot dot dot, cause life should always end with a . . .

    Thank you. . .

    a. Yoko koto kiku, Digi Charat Theatre, Leave it to Piyoko, Digiko’s Summer Vacation, Juvenille Orion
    b. Digi Charat! One of the first anime’s I saw and also one of the first I’ve cosplayed. I’ve been Puchiko and Rabi~en~Rose at Sakura-con 2002 and 2008 respectively. I also love watching the anime when I’m in a bad mood, it always brightens up my day. I love Digi Charat items. I’ve also emailed broccoli in the past about Digi Charat stationary sets to bring up to Sakura-con 2007, I was so happy when they came to our con and brought them for me! I LOVED the broccoli booth, I’d say half my funds for the con went to you guys. It was well spent. :)
    c. Here is me as Rabi~en~Rose and my friend as Digiko! http://mcw.djbouche.net/sakuracon/IMG_0931.JPG We hadn’t seen in each other in YEARS and we ran into each other at Sakura-con 2008. If it hadn’t been for being dressed up as a Digi Charat character I don’t think she would of stopped me and I wouldn’t have contact with her! So it’s thanks in part of Broccoli for continuing my obsession with Digi Charat! THANK YOU! ^_^

    Why I’m a Fan

I only own a few of the books Broccoli released — Di Gi Charact Theater: Dejiko’s Summer Vacation, Galaxy Angel volume 1, KonKon Kokon, Yoki Koto Kiku, Disgaea, The World of Disgaea, and the first two volumes of Disgaea 2 (actually, that’s more than I thought) — but I always loved the quality of the books, especially the color and bonus pages. Wish I could’ve picked up the eventual Disgaea novels. That said, obviously my favorite series was anything Disgaea-related, because it’s full of cute-yet-evil art, silliness, and the power of LOVE! It makes me spend money on things like artbooks and figure boxes and, dammit, multiple versions of the same basic game! Why!!! Gah… the pain of becoming a poor college student… At least I can take comfort knowing that prinnies are worse off…

I really did enjoy getting Broccoli Books releases, though. It was always nice to see you guys picking up a new license, especially things I never expected to be noticed like some of the Koge-Donbo books. Koge-Donbo was the artist who got me into anime and manga in the first place, so I’ve always felt like I owe her my loyalty, and the same for Broccoli/Gamers because of Di Gi Charat. I’m glad that wasn’t a baseless loyalty in the end; your releases always exceeded my expectations. Here’s to hoping all of the staff move on to nice new jobs and keep leveling up.

  9. Tami Bi says:

I am a HUGE fan of Juvenile Orion and Digi Charat. I saw my friend reading Juvenile Orion and asked if I could borrow it. I had to literally write up a contract stating I wouldn’t bend or rip her manga and then begged her even more until she finally let me. It was one of the best manga I’ve ever read and I ended up buying a copy myself. My cousin introduced me to Digi Charat. I saw him drawing some really cute characters and asked where they were from. After that, I got addicted to them too. SOOOO CUTE!! Adorable!! =)

  10. Rissa says:

My all time fav manga from broccoli would be juvenile orion. <3 I love the art style and i ahvent been able to find anything quite like it. I did a nice copic sketch of kaname that I have in my room even, hehe. hopefully, more publishers will be able to take the rights for the rest of the titles any way happy christmas to everyone.

  11. TheBigN says:

I became a fan for Broccoli Books work with Galaxy Angel, and read that and Murder Princess. I stayed for the blog to find out a little bit more information about how the manga business works, and to see how things were. It’s sad to see you go, but hopefully good times are ahead for the employees. :3

  12. Mimi says:

I own all of KAMUI that has been released, as well as Juvenile Orion, Di Gi Charat, and E’s.

I am a huge, huge fan of KAMUI; the art is spectacular and definitely appealing to the eyes. I was so happy that Broccoli picked it up back in the days when I first heard about it from my cousin who actually owned the Japanese manga. I couldn’t understand a word, but I knew that I absolutely had to read it. I was not disappointed with KAMUI at all; the beautiful characters, the adventure, and particularly the invigorating story. Sure, there are times when things get a bit muddled, but overall, I really, really like it. I was particularly blown away with the back story of…alright, I won’t spoil it for anyone reading, but I thought it was very sad and moving how the two siblings were torn away from each other like that.

Broccoli, I owe you my LIFE. Juvenile Orion was amongst the first manga I have ever purchased and KAMUI was the first series that I have gotten so absorbed into. You. Are. Awesome. Your releases are very well done and I love them! I’ve always kept my eyes out for the Broccoli booth at AnimeExpo because I always purchase something from them, particularly the grab bags! I love them! Anyway, Broccoli, it’s a sad thing you’ll be going. :( I really don’t know how to express it; I wish you’d stay around longer (staying around forever is good :D), but all good things must end. I hope that the staff and employees that work with Broccoli find awesome new jobs that will fill the hole that you leave! Good luck and good bye!

    a. A list of all the Broccoli Books manga you own and/or read.
-Basically every Di Gi Charat book you guys have put out. :3 I also read some of Koi Cupid and Galaxy Angel. I also own Konkon Kokon and Yoki Koto Kiku.
    b. What series you liked the most & why.
-Well, obviously Di Gi Charat. I’m something of a Black Gema Gema Gang fangirl, sooo… I loved the way you guys translated everything so nicely, with very helpful translation notes at the end.
    c. Anything to show that you’re a fan of Broccoli Books or a particular series we published.
Heh, I need to take a picture of my room… I think I have at least five or six Di Gi Charat posters in there as well as a humongous wall scroll of the DUP girls. (: I’ve also bought Piyo Piyo Piyoko-chan and Dejiko’s Adventure 2 in Japanese, hoping you guys would translate them someday! Aaaand I cosplayed Coo at Anime Expo 07… I had Miss Shizuki sign the copy of Konkon Kokon I had bought that day. ^^ I also bought a Di Gi Charat art book from your guys’ booth that day… (I spent a lot of money at that con, hahaha.)
In other words, I’ve basically spent hundreds of dollars on this Di Gi Charat fandom you guys dragged me into. (:

  14. Ivette says:

Thank you, Broccoli Books for introducing me to Koge Donbo’s work. I’m a fan for life!

  15. JonFawkes says:

I’ve bought sever of the books (Di Gi Charat and E’s most recently) and have read just about all of the published Di Gi Charat. My favorite series is Di Gi Charat ;3 it’s so cute. I’ve also looked at Galaxy Angel and Konkon kokon. Broccoli has the best publishing, your manga has nicer pages than normal manga. The Broccoli store (too bad the America one had to be shut down) was always awesome, great stuff, events, all so much fun. My computer is themed with various Broccoli stuff (currently a background featuring Dejiko).
Broccoli is probably the greatest publisher there is :)

  16. Yunaura says:

I own the Juvenile Orion manga series, artbook, and keychain/phonestraps, and the first volume of CosMode USA. I really like the translations you guys do because I think companies who concentrate on a certain amount of series put a lot more work and detail into them. The extras you guys have released look awesome as well, but I’ve yet to be able to get them, most sadly. I usually only go to Fanime and AX, as those are the only two I can make it to, and I always make sure to stop by your stall if possible.
I’m sad to hear that the US branch is closing down. :[ Will the CosMode USA still continue after volume 2, or is that up in the air?
Well, I wish you all the best of luck, and I do hope other companies will pick up the series from where you’ve left them, but it would have been nicer if you could have finished them.

  17. Jim says:

I’ve read Di Gi Charat, Piyoko, Kon Kon Kokon, Disgea, and Sola. I also have a large assortment of Koge Donbo art books (which I picked up at Otakon over the past few years). Through Broccoli I got to meet Koge Donbo at Otakon which was incredible as a fan.
I cannot really say I can “show” anything of my collection and dedication off as most of it is in boxes from moving.
Every year at my desk at work for the last number of years was a Di Gi Charat callendar.
I can say that I don’t collect a large amoung of manga. The majority of the manga I have taken chances on came from your publishing company. You had set a high production standard, didn’t publish a lot of crap. You always brought over the stuff that had me waiting for more. I will miss the fact that “Kon Kon Kokon” will not be continued or finished. I picked it up because of the author and that it was published through you guys.
I will finish this by saying that it is a shame you will be closing up shop, you did very good work (quality of book, printing, art, story, ect.).

  18. Rachel says:

I can’t believe you’re really closing shop. I’ve enjoyed a lot of your manga. I’m a fan to say the least. I loved Cosmode USA. I have Juvenile Orion, Disgaea, Disgaea2, E’S, KAMUI, Murder Princess, Nui, and Until the Full Moon all on my bookshelf. I really hate that I’m not going to be able to read more of Nui. I just picked up a copy not too long ago. My favorite would have to be Until the Full Moon. I loved the manga-ka’s other series Fake and was thrilled when I saw that you carried Until the Full Moon. I’m also a bit of a vampire fan, so it fit right in. I’m really going to miss seeing your books.

  19. procyon says:

I first heard about Broccoli when a roommate started importing Digi Charat DVDs back when they first came out in Japan years ago. When you started the US branch, and then Broccoli books, I could finally get some of this stuff too :) I thought you really got it right with a mix of fun & cute manga that nobody else seemed to really produce. I’ve purchased various Broccoli books over the years, though have particuarlly enjoyed the Galaxy Angel (in its various incarnations), the Disgaea artbooks, and most recently Sola.

I’m disappointed to hear you have to close up shop; you really stood out from the rest with your production quality and fan-friendliness. It was the little things really: the cool industry blog, the fan newsletter, the dust covers for the volumes, all made me really look forward to your new products.

I hope you all quickly find new opportunities; best of luck!

  20. Esther says:

I’ve read Murder Princess, and own Yoki Koto Kiku with Koge Donbo’s autograph, Kon Kon Kokon, all of Galaxy Angel, GA Beta, and GA II up to what has been released. I like the GA series the most because it’s really cute. The characters are seriously adorable. I also find the plot intriguing. I really enjoy your releases and buy them at either AX, SDCC, or Kinokuniya so I don’t have to cut out that page and wait for months before I can get my hands on the dust covers or stickers. I’m impressed with Broccoli Books for its high quality paper, color pages, and extras (including the dust covers and other mail-in specials which other manga companies do not do). It sets you guys apart from other manga companies. It is sad to hear that Broccoli will no longer be able to release these titles since the quality is just awesome and I’m anxious to read what will happen next in GA II. Thanks so much, Broccoli~

  21. Courtnay says:

The manga i’ve read are Juvenile Orion and Kamui. Kamui is my most favorite manga and im sooo sad it wont be completed. I love the art work and the story line is sooo amazing. It mixes aciton, fantasy, and romance without being too much of one category. Lets just say i love it and its one of the first mangas i started reading. I just love the series that i’ve read that you’ve published. they tend to be lesser known and are very interesting. All i can say is Kamui is amazing and i can only hope that the last two volumes will come out somewhere soon….because it rocks my world.

  22. Ariel says:

I am a huge fan of the Disgaea series. I love all the characters, they’re all so humorous and interesting. The thing I love most about it is the humor of it. It’s always able to make me laugh, even just remembering certain things scenes.
I will definitely miss you Broccolli books, and all the laughter you have given me. Thank you for everything!

  23. Meg says:

Why I am a Broccoli Books Fan!
Not only is “Broccoli Books” one of the strangest, most endearing, and memorable name I have ever heard… the manga you guys published was just as endearing and memorable!

I am the BIGGEST E-s nerd. I just love the series. I have two DVDs, one DVD thinpak set, and a load of your comics! If it weren’t for how worried I was about tearing the book apart trying to get the mail-order thingie out for the sticker, I’d have gone ahead and mailed in long ago!

But, alas…. I like to keep my precious manga in prime reading condition! So, to sate my love of E’s, I’ve scoured eBay for E’s buttons to put on my backpack.

Why? Because I’m a nerd. And I think somewhere I still have my copy of the “Gald City Times” in my room… I got it at a convention.

Now, I will be even more E’s-starved than ever! I’ll miss you guys and your wonderful company lots, but…

I also hope you’ll pull some strings and get another publisher to finish the series! While they may not be BB, hey, how can I complain?! I just love E’s!

I was very concerned when I saw less of your books and less mailing list messages. Yet, while I’m heartbroken at the news…. it was fun while it lasted!

Good luck, guys, in all your future endeavors.

  24. AJ says:

Whenever I hear Broccoli, it automatically translates to Galaxy Angel for me. I first got interested in that series when I first saw small toy figures of them made by Sega. From there i ran into the anime, then the manga, and finally found out that the original concept was from a game. From then on, I went to snagging up all the games (imported) on the PS2, imported the manga from GA to GA 3rd as well as getting the translated versions by Broccoli Books, importing Kanan’s ANGELS and ANGELSII artbooks, and even to the point of getting the special rereleases of GA and GA 2nd in the special case/hard cover form. So i practically have 3 different versions of the first GA manga arc as well as GA 2nd (GA beta for those here in the U.S.). Never before would I have gone to such lengths to collect a series like this especially if it’s imported. Looking back at my GA collection, I’m proud that I devoted that much time into it….and it’s still going

  25. Amarei says:

I’m a fan of Juvenile Orion because the guys are just so munchable, lol. But besides that I loved how original and different the story was. The character designs were also amazing. I also loved the Kamui manga that was being released. I’ll really miss it because I thought it was just getting up the good part. The storyline had quite a bit of plot twists to it too.

Thanks for all your hard work! I’ll miss you! T_T

  26. Sam says:

    Why I’m a Fan…

Well, it is very difficult to get my hands on any sort of manga in Australia, and the first manga I got my hands on by Broccoli Books was Kon Kon Kokon, just around 6-9 months ago just by chance in a book shop around an hour and a half away from where I live myself. After reading Kon Kon Kokon, I could not help but be astounded by the high quality of the manga Broccoli Books released and all the extras that they included (See my review here: http://sam.animeblogger.net/?p=363)

It actually kept me going to that same book shop every month or so when I had some time off school to try my best to get as many wonderful releases by Broccoli Books as possible. As I found that while they didn’t release as many products as other companies over here, they took the time to make everything perfect, and I cannot pass up commenting on the high quality paper that they used in releasing it.

Unfortunately, I was not able to track down everything I wanted, since I really wanted to check out Koi Cupid and Nui! however I am pleased with the stuff I do own and honestly, all your products catered to all my preferences in a series with very limited releases not catering to my likes. It is such a shame not to have your products released any more, however, I shall keep up my quest to make sure I own as many of your releases as possible!

You all set a new standard to what I expect from a manga release! Stopped or not, you will always have a fan in me!

  27. Julie says:

Broccoli Books: Thank you so much for all your great work. I’ll respond to all the prompts. ^__^

    a) I own/have read every broccoli book that has been published, series or one shot, except My Dearest Devil Princess, Galaxy Angel, and Coyote Ragtime Show (this last one only because I hadn’t gotten to picking it up yet, though.)

    b) I’ve enjoyed most of your titles for different reasons each, but since you’re making me pick a favorite: Leave it to Piyoko and from BoysenBerry, Pet on Duty. Words cannot express how much I love these two books. Piyoko is the perfect embodiment of cute meeting evil and the PKO are just the sort of loyal guardian dogboys every evil panda girl needs. Plus, it’s hella funny. It’s one of the first Di Gi Charat books I actually really liked. It also prompted me to buy the other Di Gi Charat books published by Broccoli, and of course I loved them. As for Pet: It’s just such a charming and sexy little story, and the kitty get up is super cute to boot. I love brooding semes and I love Nase Yamato’s lovely artwork.

    c) How have I shown I’m a fan? I’ve cosplayed as Ky from Piyoko 3 times. I have pimped Piyoko on my personal blog and reviewed it for websites, beseeching people to support it in the hopes that we’d someday see volume 2. When it was first released, I pushed it on people in the bookstore where I work - repeatedly. Sometimes even when I wasn’t working, haha! I’ve also bought no less than 4 copies of Pet on Duty - for myself and for gifts. I even want another for myself, because I’ve read my copy so many times. (And I have a large enough manga library that I would never actually NEED to re-read anything … but I just love it so much that every time I even think about the title, I have to go read it again.) I’ve even imported the official doujinshi.

I’ve talked highly of the content of Broccoli’s books as well as the amazing production values to anyone who would listen. I’ve been rooting for you guys since the beginning and wanted so much for you to succeed. Also, this seems random to add, but you guys have one of the best, if not THE best, websites in the manga industry. Design/layout ease, actual useful info, nice images and goodies, plus previews — everything. You guys have been really top notch. I’m sorry that I won’t see more Disgaea (it’s so funny!), the end of Kamui (ack!), or the final volumes of Piyoko (double ack!) or Nui (sad!), but I wish you all the best of luck for the future.

PS: A request: can post /offer for download the missing page (34) from Nui #1? That way we could at least see what we’re missing? Right at the end of the chapter, even, eek!
    <3

  28. Ted says:

I am a fan of many things from Broccoli’s library, the the series I like the most is Di Gi Charat. Why, well despite their looks I like the typical humor in it. And the fact that the series makes no sense is just the icing on the cake. I have 2 Di Gi Charat Manga in my collection, and i am planning on getting the complete series DVD Box set on Christmas. I am also a watcher of Galaxy Angel, not really a fan. Both Galaxy Angel and Di Gi Charat are very humorous and doesn’t lack any drama. And that is what I need in anime.

Thanks to you guys for bringing me the series to America I’ll see you guys in the future.

    Take Care.

  31. Jessica says:

Wow, it has a been a while. I’ve been scouring the bookstore shelves for the newest volume of Kamui, and now I see the reason for it not being there.

First, I want to say thank you for bringing some great series here to the US for those of us who aren’t quite otaku enough to have picked up much Japanese :) I’m very sad to see you closing your doors, and wish everyone there the best of luck in future pursuits.

I picked up Juvenile Orion first, based on the artwork– the winged Kaname on the cover–, and thus discovered Broccoli Books, which of course brought me to a few of the other series you published. Until the Full Moon I picked up at a used book store, and I grew interested in Kamui after seeing it on the Broccoli website as recommended to those who like Juvenile Orion. I’ve also picked up Disgaea, though I haven’t had the chance to read it yet.

I’m not sure which series I like better, between Juvenile Orion and Kamui. I wish there was more to Juvenile Orion, because the last volume doesn’t feel like an end to the story. The entire series feels like one chunk in a huge world– what happens to the characters next? What about all the different factions? I’d be interested in the card game if it ever came to the US, as well, though I’d be happy with the Japanese versions for the artwork alone, though it would be more fun to be able to play the game with them.

My favorite character in Juvenile Orion switched from Kaname to Isshin, as the series went on. I’ve been a fan of winged characters for quite a while now, again how I became interested in the series in the first place, but something drew me more to the side characters as the story progressed. I can’t exactly pinpoint why Isshin is my favorite character now, though– perhaps it’s his bashfulness, or the fact that I’m quite happy with the fanart I did of him. (I did one each of Tsukasa and Tomonori as well– all three at http://sylverangel.deviantart.com ) Whatever the case, he holds a special place in my memory.

I can definitely say I prefer the artwork in Juvenile Orion over Kamui, in general, because it’s a bit less angular. The angles work for Kamui, though, and they grew on me after I became more interested in the story. Both series have plenty of eye candy in them. :)

Again, thank you for bringing these and all your other series here to the US. We, as fans of the series you published, appreciate your hard work and dedication, and it will be missed!

  32. Faris Kalin says:

I’ve always thought that Broccoli made quality books, and I’ve bought every single Di Gi Charat related book/anime that has been released in the US. I even have a few of the Japanese language manga and artbooks.

Di Gi Charat would definitely be my favorite series. I’ve always enjoyed it’s mix of charm and wit with a bit of the surreal sometimes thrown in the mix. It’s got great artwork, great characters, and stories that are sure to get more than one or two chuckles from me every time I check them out.

You guys will definitely be missed. I can only hope that other quality publishers will come along to release more of the Di Gi Charat media that I adore so much.

  33. Jeff says:

I have always liked Broccoli’s products. I work in a bookstore and whenever I saw a new title from Broccoli come in I always looked at it knowing that it would be interesting.

When i went to Japan this last summer one of my most memorable moments was coming across Gamers (Broccoli’s parent company) in Akihabara. it was very interesting to see what was there and would be arriving over here in the next few years. I was even able to pick up some things that have not made it to the states yet like my Pleinair: Shark Hunter Figure from Disgaea and a Clannad wall scroll.

I currently own all of the Disgaea books, including the World of Disgaea 1&2, My Dearest Devil Princess (I even had the next 3 in the series preordered0 , Murder Princess, the FLCL ultimate editon DVD set, and the Haruka on Vespa FLCL wall scroll that hangs above my computer. i have thoroughly enjoyed all of these products and hope to them picked up by other distributors in the future.

Thank you for all of your great work. Broccoli will be missed, you stood out in the industry because of your high standards of quality and excellent customer service.

    Hi there!

I own Digi-charat, Galaxy Angel, Murder Princess, My Dearest Devil Princess

This is a hard choice…I really love Digi-charat because it’s just super cute and I love anything by Koge Donbo but I’ll have to go with Galaxy Angel. The series is just so funny and awesome. Plus it’s done by Kanan (her illustrations are just really great!) and Ryo Mizuno (Lodoss anyone? Or is that too old school..lol..)!!!

I’m really sad you guys are closing. You are a great company that actually cares about the quality of the products that you make and the fans. I think this is really rare here in the US. I always loved seeing you guys at cons.

Thank you for bringing guests like Sekihiko Inui and Maika Netsu. It was really fun to be able to see them and ask them questions about their work. Also thank you again for previously supporting the UC Berkeley anime club.

Again, I’ll miss you guys. Hopefully we’ll still see you guys at cons still.

  35. mel says:

I have always been a fan of Juvenile Orion and Galaxy Angel. The books were already a great deal and super quality with out without the bonus dust jackets! I am really sad to see you guys go =( The paper quality was one of the things that stood out for Broccoli from others. KAMUI and E’S are both series I am sad that will not be completed by Broccoli. But the thing I will miss the most is you the name itself Broccoli Books because your named after my favorite vegetable

  36. Jenn says:

Wow, it’s been a while since I first visited the Anime Gamers store..about 10 years ago, I believe, where I bought copies of Silent Mobius and Juline. It remains strongly in my mind as my introduction to Anime Gamers and Broccoli.

I’ve read the Juvenile Orion series. I love the character designs, especially Tsukasa and Tomonori. What can I say, I love wings. The quality of the manga was consistently wonderful. I have the Realm of Light Artbook as well, and bought a Tsukasa phone strap at AX. The series remains one of my favorites.

I will forever miss Broccoli and its dedication to its fans. Thanks so much for being such a great company and good luck to all of you.

  37. Steve says:

Broccoli books will always have a special place on my manga shelves. I have every volume of Murder Princess (Inui-San is so damned cool and yes I even have his Comic Party from ahem another publisher), My Dearest Devil Princess (Maika Netsu-San is also damn cool… If only you could have managed her other title Kapreka), I just started Nui and Honoka Level up, and am sad it can not be continued. I have every volume of Disgaea (and Digaea 2), and every volume of Galaxy Angel.

Of the titles I think Murder Princess and Devil Princess are my favorites (yes I am a guy…)… Murder Princess for the cool blending of western fantasy in an anime style and Devil Princess for the Maki’s super cool spirites like Tarot and Pazu).

I am a huge manga reader and am sad to see a slowing in the industry (at it’s height I was picking up maybe 5-10 titles a week)… because it means less manga to read. I will say among the publishers the Broccoli may not have been the most prolific publisher but the quality of their titles was certainly some of the best. The translations were well thought out, and the editting job was much better done than the majority of the other publishers.

    Broccoli will be sorely missed.

  38. sam says:

I loved juvenile orion because it was great!! I never got dust jacket 5! awww I hate to see another great anime company go!!!!!!!!

  39. zalas says:

I became a fan of Broccoli Books because of the attention to detail and the quality of the translations. Furthermore, Broccoli Books felt very much like a “by fans for fans” establishment, and gave you this nice cozy feeling inside when you sit in their panels or browse their booth in the dealer’s room. It’s really sad to see you guys go…

  40. Tommy says:

I started out a fan of the galaxy angel manga. Collected the first sereis, beta and galaxy angel 2. Kinda Sad that 2 wont be completed at thsi time. Own both disgaea art books O f the picture in the dsigaea art book promted me to get the PVc figure of Etna. I like galaxy angel the most because it funny and serious at the same time, I think few series can do that. the art was good aswell. PIcked up the art bopopk that Kanan did aswell

  41. Anna says:

    Why I’m A Fan:
I started out reading Di Gi Charat (which is still one of my favorite mangas), i love the silly humor of it. I also read/own Juvenile Orion, sola, Nui!, Kon Kon Kokon, Galaxy Angel, and Coyote Ragtime Show. I’m very sad that you’re closing, you guys have always picked awesome mangas to translate and i’m going to miss that. Thanks so much for all the awesome titles you’ve done!!!!

  42. Tyrell says:

    Why I’m a fan:
Galaxy Angel and FLCL! I saw FLCL at two in the morning at a convention and thought it was the greatest show ever. Every time I’ve watched it since, I’ve found something new. Then I went to the local Borders Books and found Galaxy Angel. What an awesome series. I can’t get over the character interactions and their antics. I still go back and reread that series every now and then. They’re also so cute. Awww. I also liked reading Disgaea 1 and 2. It actually changed my religious perception of heaven and hell. Lol.

I was overjoyed when I found your booth at Otakon 2006. You guys had everything! I love the hats, stickers, figures, and bookmarks. You seemed to be more than just a book company. You were a full Japanese experience. I wish you had a branch were I lived. I also liked the dust jackets for some of the books. They just made the whole thing seem so much more professional. Stuff like that really made me feel as if you really cared about the customer and weren’t just trying to pander to the lowest common denominator like so many other book sellers. It was just something about how you put the book together that made them seem a level above the rest. I will never forget you or the books that I own. Fan for life!

  43. Katy says:

No!!! Broccoli is closing?! That’s so sad…I’ll miss picking up books you guys published! I love anything Koge-Donbo does…I love the weirdness and cuteness of Digi Charat. I also loved Galaxy Angel and Murder Princess. There were a few series I wanted to read but haven’t gotten a chance to yet, like Disgaea and Nui. I also like Juvenile Orion.

I’ll miss you guys! Best of luck in your next adventures!!!!

  44. Kotoba_no_Kishi says:

    ‘Why I’m a Fan’

As a child, I had always enjoyed comics and animation; I read a lot of novels too, but I loved the way that these two mediums could bring a story to life in an exciting and visual way. As I got older, I realised that my peers were mostly interested in playing sports or video games, and the only animation they were into was ‘The Simpsons’, so I spent less and less time looking into comics and animation. Although I still had an interest in them, I didn’t know anyone else that did, so it would have been a rather lonely experience. My interest was reawakened just before heading off to university by a chance Amazon recommendation that directed me towards Ryo Mizuno’s ‘Record of Lodoss War’ series. I started with the manga and eventually ended up buying the DVDs, since it was really intriguing to see a Western-style high fantasy tale portrayed in such an exciting manner.

Having rekindled my interest, I was enthused that my university had an active ‘Comics & Animation Society’ and that meetings just happened to be in the same building as the ‘Japanese for Absolute Beginners’ class that I had signed up for, starting a few minutes after the class ended. They only screened subtitled anime – in fact they switched over to being a strictly anime society a few months later – but I didn’t mind. I was very interested in Japan, having studied it around four or five times in school (that’s what happens when you move house several times), and it seemed like a great way to reinforce what I had learned in the language class. I greatly enjoyed the shows that they screened but was rather disappointed by the social side of things. Typically people would turn up, watch the scheduled shows, with a couple of biscuit breaks, and then head back to our rooms. The main problem was that people typically came in groups and rarely talked to anyone outside of those groups – I was going there by myself, since no-one else I knew was interested, so I wound up speaking to relatively few people, only one of whom was familiar with animation at all – a post-grad who, luckily for me, had been into the ‘Lodoss War’ OVA series as a teenager. None of these people ever came back for a second helping of anime the following week.

After the building’s projector went kaput, and the club meeting location moved a couple of miles away, I decided that enough was enough and went back to pursuing my solo route through the world of anime, introducing my friends to shows that they might like whenever possible. But where should I head next? Being a fan of Ryo Mizuno’s work, I had a look to see if there were any other series he had worked on available in English, which led me to check out ADV’s ‘Rune Soldier Louie’ and, of course, Broccoli’s ‘Galaxy Angel’. Having enjoyed Mizuno-sensei’s take on fantasy and having enjoyed the comedy in both ‘Welcome to Lodoss Island’ and ‘Rune Soldier’, I was very interested to see how he would handle sci-fi comedy. Having watched the episode of Galaxy Angel that was included on a ‘Newtype USA’ DVD many, many times, I decided to buy some of the books, which was my first introduction to the wonderful world of Broccoli Books. Around that time, I was also looking for some new 4-koma strips to read, having greatly enjoyed the humorous slice-of-life stories presented in ‘Azumanga Daioh’. I came across some ‘Di Gi Charat’ ones, and finding them to be amusingly charming, decided to look into the books.

I was absolutely amazed. I had never really liked the tough, green nature of broccoli as a kid, but when they say your tastes change as you mature, boy were they right! I had greatly enjoyed the stories presented in the ‘Lodoss’, ‘Rune Soldier’ and ‘Azumanga Daioh’ volumes I already owned, but as far as the whole package was concerned, these ‘Broccoli Books’ were in a league of their own! I remember visiting some bookshops in India when I was younger. The sight of the shelves stacked with fascinating stories yet to be read combined with the sweet smell of the new paper to create an intoxicating effect, which made you rush home giddily to eagerly absorb yourself in your new purchase. I rarely feel such excitement when buying books these days, but these volumes were so brilliant that all the feelings came rushing back. The color inserts and crisp art reproduction, the printing on bright paper of thick stock, the faint but sweet smell! Simply breathtaking. I could read katakana by this point, so I greatly appreciated the way sound effects were handled – I could read out the Japanese sound as it was originally written and then associate it with what it actually meant thanks to the artistically drawn translation alongside. And how could I forget the translator’s notes and extras! I was delighted when DVDs first came out and it was now possible to fit extras on the discs along with the movies themselves and I had always wished that someone would attempt to do this in book form. Broccoli Books showed me how great this idea could be! No more scouring the internet with my trusty kanji dictionary, searching for any untranslated material related to my favourite series – all I had to do was turn to the back of the book! And that’s not to say anything about the actual stories in the books, which pleasantly lived up to the high production values the vast majority of the time.

‘Galaxy Angel’ balanced comedy, adventure and romance very well, and the outer space setting kept things fresh. The beautifully toned art was also a pleasure to behold, being recognizably Japanese but still seeming fresh somehow. Dejiko and Piyoko’s wacky hi-jinks were also great fun – slapstick comedy with cute characters, executed in style. Whilst I was studying for my finals, when all my friends were too busy with their studies (or their girlfriends :P) to hang out, in between reading notes and watching nature documentaries (I was a Zoology major), I would always fall back on a good comedy manga to keep myself going. Although I never managed to work space whales into any of my finals essays (myuuu!), I felt encouraged that there was a publisher out there putting as much care into the quality of the books themselves as you did. After all, great art and stories are even better when presented in a quality manner and, as far as manga goes, Broccoli releases were the HD ‘Platinum Editions’ of their time.

I was so impressed by the books I had bought that I also went and checked out ‘Juvenile Orion’ despite being uncertain as to whether I would like it or not; it was very different but still great. For someone who really enjoys collecting high quality books, I can say that all of your releases that I have are real pleasures to own as books, not simply just as collections of stories, a rarity in the English-speaking manga world. In general, for collaborative efforts like music, films and plays, you can tell from the amount of energy or fun that a work exudes how well the team members got on with one another. The feel that I get from your books suggests that, although they required a lot of effort and time to achieve the finished product, the actual working environment was enjoyable and immensely satisfying. I really hope that everybody is able to find something good to move on to once the closedown is completed, because few publishers do it like you did. Ganbatte yo!

    ‘Why I’m a Fan’

I own all of Juvenile Orion ’s volumes and i wish i had the poster too!

I have just started to collect Kamui also! I love the way broccoli books publishes books.

I just HAD to buy Murder Princess too! I loved the story and the art style.

  46. Sonja says:

    Why I’m A fan?

Mostly for the Galaxy Angel series, which I have been avidly collecting as my second manga ever. I loved the coool color pages, and it was still a very cheap book. The translations are wonderful, the typography is never messed up.
I dont see many, if any, mistakes in your products.
I love Kanan, and the main thing of mine is to collect everything Kanan or Galaxy Angel. The series is really wonderful.

I know you guys were limited in getting titles, but every series you’ve done is above-standard.
    I love you guys!

  47. Okura says:

I was first brought into liking Broccoli Books due to the one shot Yoki Koto Kiku. After that came Kamui and Juvenile Orion. I loved the effort put into publishing and translating. Especially the binding of the books! That was the part I loved about your publications the most. Unlike large companies such as Tokyopop and Viz, the manga I purchased published by Broccoli Books always stayed tidy without the covers curling. It may seem silly, but I really did appreciate the extra effort put into those titles.

You’re an awesome group and I’m sad to see you go like this! I’ll always be a fan of your work. :D

  48. Satsuki says:

I’m a fan of your work. Many people beat me to this but… The translations are perfect with the raws I read. The binding and paper is also good quality and the printing is wonderful. I have read and bought all of Juvenile Orion. You opened me to new mangakas and series. I really liked how you included the card game into the Orion manga which was useful when I saw people playing the game. Compared to other publishing industries, you had better quality manga. I read Kamui for a while. I love the Kamui promo sticker I got from one convention xD its still on my binder. I like how the editors work hard to make not spelling mistakes and fitting words into bubbles. It will be such a shame for you guys to leave mangas that you make are one of a kind.
I shall miss you T^T but hopefully you’ll comeback someday OTL

  49. SasaharaX says:

I’m a fan of Broccoli for bring the great Galaxy Angel Series to the states. I loved the art and the characters so much i always bought to of each of the books, 1 to read over and over again and the other to put the beautiful dust jacket on. I also enjoyed the other great series you have like E’s, Juvenile Orion and Murder Princess, Digi Charat. I am sad to you all go and i wish for everyone at Broccoli to take care and will miss you all so much.

  50. Mo-chan says:

    OMG WHY!?!
I’m a big fan of Broccoli Books even though I hate hate veggie! I can’t believe you guys are leaving us. I’ve been a fan of you ever since I picked up volume 1 of Juvenile Orion. I couldn’t put it down and immediately went out and bought the rest of the series and even got the dust jackets for them. My favorite thing about Broccoli was the fun I had at Cons getting to shop your booth and picking up all the Juvenile Orion merchandise I could ever want. While I was there I picked up a Kamui manga and was hooked again! I can’t believe I won’t get to finish it now. It seems so unfair and I really hope somebody else picks it up so the series can get the end it deserves. Not to mention I’ll miss my Digi Charat and E’s as well. I wish you wouldn’t have to go, you’ll be missed so much! What are we going to do without you? What will I do without you? My next con won’t be the same since your familar booth won’t be there =*(
Wish you all the best eventhough you won’t be around you’ll still have me as a fan of Broccoli……….Broccoli Forever!!!!!

  51. LiLo-chan says:

I am sad to see Broccoli Books. I always love visiting Broccoli’s booth when it is there in the dealers room at any convention I go to. I try to get something every time like a Prinny plush, a Puchiko hat, Digi Charat prints, or some manga. I love Broccoli Book, I have collected Disgaea 1, 2 and the Artbooks, Juvenile Orion, E’S, Pandora Hearts, Until the Full Moon, Aquarian Age - Juvenile Orion Artbook, Kon Kon Kokon, and all of the Galaxy Angel I can get my hands on. I wish I could take a picture of my dorm so you can see how I decorated the side of my dresser with the Digi Charat poster prints I got from Broccoli(I get kicked out of the dorms during winter break). Even in college, I am still a Broccoli fan, now and forever and will always think of you when I reread my mangas or see my the various Broccoli items.

  53. Vea Rimkrig says:

It’s SO sad yer are leaving us, yer was my favourite english manga publisher and most of my bookshelf are books from yer! Like; Juvenile Orion, Di Gi Charat, Disgaea, Kon Kon Konkon and Galaxy Angel.. (I also have the artbooks)

My two top favourite books are from yer too (Murder Princess and My Dearest Devil Princess) I love the mainchara Falis (M.P.), she’s so cute, but still so skilled and independent.

Yer also have the best quality on yer books, they last so much longer than the “thin-papered”ones. I kinda don’t know what more to say other than that I’m so gonna miss yer so darn much…

  54. Kirakira says:

I’m really going you miss you guys. I’ve always appreciated the quality of your titles and the fact that Broccoli really kept true to the original Japanese works, both quality and translation wise. You guys have a lot of unique & fun titles from Di Gi Charat to Galaxy Angels to My Dearest Devil Princess. I’d have to say my favorite of the Broccoli titles I own would be Disgaea (hilarious characters!!) and particularly Murder Princess. I really like the art-style of Inui Sekihiko and thought it was really awesome when you brought him to Fanime last year. Equally awesome was Netsu Maika at Fanime this year! (^o^)
I will always remember Broccoli Books as a high-quality oriented company that was kind to the fans. Thank you for being so supportive and making so many donations to the anime community here. I sincerely wish the best of luck to you all in your future endeavors.

  55. Jeanie says:

Visiting the Broccoli booth was a highlight of the Otakon dealer’s room for me. I found the things I wanted most and the best souvenirs for my friends there. =)

I’ve read Di Gi Charat, Leave it to Piyoko!, and Kon Kon Kokon. What I think I’m going to miss about Broccoli USA the most is the care you took with each of your releases. Kon Kon Kokon has this amazing textured cover and it’s a joy to look at, hold, and read. Just this little detail made it all the more special. With more material being released right now than anyone has the time to read, I was glad to know that I could pick up a Broccoli manga and get an enjoyable read with quality production. You will be missed, and the contributions you have made to our library are greatly appreciated!

  56. soopykun says:

T_T in the few days i didn’t read the blog, looked like i missed the window, but i’ll post anyway b/c you guys rock

    Why I Love Broccoli:

    1. Great customer service
    - When I ran an anime club and e-mailed you guys, you were always really responsive and friendly in your emails. People also really loved the promo goods.
    - Loved how you guys kept everyone in the loop about the whereabouts of the FLCL ultimate editions t-shirts and the progress updates on the manga. Was really fun to see what went on behind the scenes!

    2. Product Selection
    - Great, great, great licenses! Some were really niche, but this made them so much more awesome! Most companies would probably have stayed away from Yoki Kiku Koto and Murder Princess just based on the titles/brief synopses, but you guys took them and paid them fantastic respect! Also, I am really endebted to you guys for all the Galaxy Angel you put out. I was first a bit skeptical about the series, but then I really got into it, fell and it remains one of my favorite series ever. Being able to find merchandise and all the different manga series for it stateside was just such a gratifying experience; in a sea of merchandise for unnamed extremely popular shonen series, it was really refreshing to see someone still focusing on the more dedicated otaku market. And don’t get me started on Disgaea… :P

    3. Product Quality
    - Highest quality manga in my selection. Most other companies went for thick newsprint and (progressively) they’ve been moving towards flimsy covers and bindings, but every Broccoli Book I’ve bought has lived up to the “Deluxe” on the cover. Stiff covers, amazing paper weight, great print quality. Manga’s pretty cheap in Japan, but with the premium we pay for it in the US, it was really amazing to see one company give us our money’s worth (and then some!) I have books from other unnamed publishers where it’s really obvious that they didn’t touch up what they received, and did really cursory jobs of throwing everything together, but I can’t think of a single Broccoli Book I own that suffers from any of these problems.
    - Great DVD’s. I only picked up the FLCL Ultimate Edition and Digi Charat Treasure Box, but they still hold up today as really great examples of what a DVD should be. Great menus, great packaging, great transfers, great voice acting, great translation/script quality. I also really liked how you guys took a safe and steady path in some of the crazier times when everyone was picking up every license they could grab.
    - Amazing artbooks! I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. In every way, your products were some of the highest quality ones out there. I’ve bought Japanese artbooks, have a ton of pre-order bonus artbooks for games, and buy a lot of American art/design books. A lot of companies would skimp on the binding quality or paper quality, but you guys did not falter and continued putting out amazing products through and through. And nothing could ever beat your price points. I paid $20 for the World of Disgaea 2 artbook, and I know other publishers would have charged at least $40. I would be reluctant to spend this much on an artbook, unless it was by Broccoli. I would gladly pay $40 or more for your products, and that would be money well-spent

I’m really going to miss you guys, and I’ve been on a hunt to track down your older stuff that I can’t find easily online; just my little way of still supporting you while I can, and preserving your memory. In retrospect, I really regret not being able to make it out to Fanime or Anime Expo to visit your booth, and I REALLY regret not being able to make it out to the warehouse sale (whee..east coast.)

I said it in one of my earlier posts, and I’ll say it again. You guys were the best of the best! Good luck with what lies ahead!

  57. Katelyn says:

Oh, I hope I’m not too late for this! Life is so busy nowadays, you know? xD

    Why I LOOOVVEEE Broccoli!

Broccoli books was an absolutely amazing publishing company. I would get so excited every time I saw your little trademark “B” insignia on the mangas at my local bookshop! In fact, my sister and I would purposely go out of our way to get manga specifically from broccoli, so we’ve collected quite a few! The quality of the books is just astounding- I’ve always commented on the feel of the books, from the paper used to the covers! I also absolutely loved how you would include the front page illustrations in color just like they do in Japan, when other companies often leave them in black and white. All of the translation notes were great- I never was confused by a cultural nuance as I sometimes am with other mangas that don’t explain what they mean. The fact that one could fill out a questionnaire at the end of the book and sen it in for bonus stickers and dust jackets was a really wonderful thing. I loved getting those beautiful stickers in the mail- it really made my day! You guys also had some great titles- I love all things Koge Donbo, so I was in heaven with your manga! Sola is really great too. My 10 year old sister is a huge fan of Nui and Koi Cupid, and was devastated to learn that you were closing down. When I found out, I stared at the computer in shock. My sister looked close to tears! Please know that you will truly be missed, and that your love of manga shines through in the quality of your books and the adoration of your customers. I only hope that the US will find another publishing company half as terrific as you were. I love you Broccoli, and I will miss you!!!

  58. Ken says:

I’m not in the fan club, but this stuff is hard to read. I’m going to miss you guys so much!

  59. Ken says:

Screw it, I’m posting here anyway!

The the first reason I love you guys so much is because you actually have a face. I met–I believe his name was–Micheal at CLA 2005 and then later at CLA 2007. He was just a normal, laid-back guy who was happy to talk about anime. He introduced me to just about all of the Broccoli characters and got me started on Coyote Ragtime show (which I’m sad to see go). Since then I’ve looked for the green banner and little booth at every book or anime convention I’ve been to. Your staff was always willing to answer any questions I had or just chat it up. My wife even has her attachments to you.

I went and promoted you guys to the Teen Librarian at San Bernardino Public Library, which gave me access to your manga right at my place of work. I have since read and collected volumes from Di Gi Charat, E’s, My Dearest Devil Princess, Coyote Ragtime Show, Aquarian Age: Juvenile Orion, Galaxy Angel, Disgaea, and Kon Kon Kokon–and am the proud owner of the Di Gi Charat and FLCL box sets. I’m glad I was able to grab three more of your books at the sale and I’m eager to collect them all before they disappear forever (so if you’re still selling volumes let me know since I want the profit to go straight to you guys).

Puchiko has to be the second reason I love you guys. That little sarcastic black magic user has had me running around my house for years calling out “Nyu!” every time I see my cat. Her darkness in contrast to her utter cuteness is what makes her so hilarious to me.

I must say that I do regret not paying your company more attention. I had assumed that you’d be around forever and wasn’t in a rush to buy your books and for that I am truely sorry. I didn’t even know you had a net club until a couple weeks back (I think I’ll join just on principle if I can) and I’m going to hang onto my Gamer’s Card as a momento.

Thank you so much for everthing, Broccoli International USA!

  60. Kaden says:

    If Im not too late.
I own Di Gi Charat: Dejiko’s Adventure Vol.1, Galaxy Angel Vol.1-3*the rest are on their way*, Koi Cupid Vol.1, Kon Kon Kokon Vol.1, Leave it to Piyoko Vol.1, sola Vol.1, and Yoki Koto Kiku. I will be buying more as soon as i can*the ones that are already published* such as Disgaea, Aquarian Age: Juvenile Orion, Nui, and many others.

How i came across Broccoli is because Koge Donbo. I love everything Koge Donbo has done. She is my idol.

My favorite series has got to be Di Gi Charat because of all the crazy, funny things that go on within it. I buy anything that has to do with Di Gi Charat.

My goal is to buy every manga Broccoli Books has published or is linked to.

I was wondering, since Broccoli Books is connected to Anime Gamers, if it was going to close also?

  61. Kaden says:

Oh and I shall miss you sooooooooooo much!!!!!!T^T

  62. The Zero Project says:

    I hope to God I’m not late…
I have Disgaea, Dejiko’s Dummer Vacation, Piyoko is Number One!, and every Galaxy Angel manga up to volume 2 of Galaxy Angel II…I’m still lookin’ for the third volume~!

I came across it after a copy of Galaxy Angel DVD 3 showed the Broccoli Books world to me~!

I’m gonna miss Broccoli Books, and hope the progress of a new publisher is going smoothly…

I want to complete my Galaxy Angel experience…that is my goal…
    And yes, I’m a Galaxy Angel fanboy~!

Until next time, ni! (Mimolette is in my head now~)

From the Zero Project to you all, we’re gonna miss the hell out of ya!

I know I’m way too late, but I figure I might as well make this the first (and possibly last) post for this blog.

Back before 2003, I didn’t think anyone was going to release any Digi-Charat or Galaxy Angel manga in the U.S. Lo and behold, it happened. A whole mess of anime goods followed, and finally, there was a place where anime fans could buy FLCL DVDs, Galaxy Angel manga, and Digi-Charat hats that wasn’t named Suncoast. Although they were located in the far-off land of L.A. (by far off, I mean thousands of miles away from where I live), the quality of their localized manga was magical. Never before had there been full-color inserts and extras in a U.S.-published manga; never before had the staff members shown such loyalty and care in crafting each volume, whether it be Disgaea, Sola, Galaxy Angel, Digi-Charat, or even My Dearest Devil Princess. And at conventions (Otakon especially), they went the extra mile to show off their wares (giving away stuff that would’ve probably never seen the light of day outside Japan).

So yeah, in short, everyone at Broccoli USA will be greatly missed (Shizuki included). Best of luck in your future endeavors (unless they involve working as fundraisers for Bernard L. Madoff’s legal defense fund). See ya!

Well you’re not! I’ll probably throw in a few two cents just to see if anyone does read this before some websquatter shows up and takes over!

I’d just like to fix my English since it was kinda messy in comment 51:

I am sad to see Broccoli Books go. I always love visiting Broccoli’s booth when it was there in the dealers room at the convention I went to. I try to buy something every time, like a Prinny plush, a Puchiko hat, Digi Charat prints, or some manga. I wish I could take a picture of my dorm so you can see how I decorated the side of my dresser with the Digi Charat poster prints I got from Broccoli (I got kicked out of the dorms during winter break). Even in college, I am still a Broccoli fan, now and forever and will always think of you when I reread my mangas or see my the various Broccoli items.

Also today, 01/06/09 I got my grab bag I had took the chance on ordering. I was quite glad I did because I love the items I got. One of the things was a Chocola white scarf, which was what I just needed since my previous white scarf got ruined. There is just so many goodies and I am just ecstatic to have gotten them. I’m just a little sad I only got two Pita-Ten items and I was short one Tsukasa Amou from having complete set of the Juvenile Orion clear folders, but everything is still great. All of this makes me really sad knowing I won’t see Broccoli at conventions anymore. I wish I picked up more poster-prints at your dealers booth.

And what the heck does that have to do with this blog post?? These people that are just advertising on this blog, go away. It’s called “spamming,” you know. Spamming is bad. Extremely bad for people that frequent blogs and forums like I do. It’s a type of a taboo, so please stop. Most people don’t check this site often because Broccoli Books USA closed–forever. How’s that going to help your business? Heck, it’s lucky that I check this site every two weeks, and I’m sure that’s often compared to other people here!! If you want to advertise your wares, rent a space on a social networking site like Myspace or Facebook. You’ll get a better response and more traffic on your site. Have a nice day.
