Galaxy Angel II vol 1 goes on sale today.

Look for this cover at your local bookstore:

Order at AnimeGamers.com and get free shipping.
Also ships w/ a dust jacket featuring the cover art from the Japanese release (called Galaxy Angel 3rd).

I had a Broccoli Books fan club mailing list written out… but my computer was just sucking up RAM & I had to re-start before I could send. Then I got stuck in a sales meeting, then got stuck writing emails to Japan folks… and at the end of the day, I forgot to send it out.

Boo!

It was all Galaxy Angel II themed & Di Gi Charat themed.

Oh well.
I’ll send it out first thing tomorrow morning.
There are three give-away items, so keep checking your email!

Congratulations to the following winners of the Broccoli Books fan club mailing list give-away.

We’ve also included snippets of their winning entry for “Why my friend needs a free copy of E’S vol 1,” so enjoy!

Each winner gets a free copy of E’S volume 1 to give to their friend.

Jet from San Diego, CA
Who wrote: “[My friend] is on a mission to enlighten the minds of those who need anime and manga in their life! To join us all together in a showing of E’S in his small living room! To unite us all against the forces of evil!”
- Gathering together in a small living room. Hm, reminds me of my college days.

Walter from Unknown, USA
Who wrote: “My friend lives under the bed and I toss manga to him nightly. If I don’t the cats start disappearing.”
- As a cat owner myself, Walter’s friend definitely needs E’S vol 1.

Stacey from Londonberry, NH
Who wrote: “I think [my friend is] going insane. She runs around acting like she can blow up things just by pointing a palm at it, and its sad because I watched her try to make some paper catch fire for about twenty minutes yesterday.”
- Sometimes Editor Dee wears a cape and runs around the office, while designer Chris puts on his shades & paperboy hat and strums his bass, and sales manager Ardith draws eyes on the palm of her hands and walks around like a zombie. Those people always need help.

Jen from Pinellas Park, FL
Who wrote: “All my friends sit there at the computer looking at all the Broccoli Books that have previews…”
- We reward those who kiss up to us.

Nami from Pinellas Park, FL
Who wrote: “My friend needs a copy of E’s vol 1 because im trying to win him over.”
- Who are we to stop true love?

We had the project in the works for a while now, but we finally got the Broccoli Books MySpace page started!

http://myspace.com/broccolibooks

It’ll mostly be reminders about release dates.
But we’ll try to come up w/ something fun like the Broccoli Books fan club.

We’re open to suggestions, so please write us on the Broccoli Books MySpace page. Or here in the blog comments. Or via email to editor@broccolibooks.com.

We sent out a Broccoli Books fan club ML last Friday to let everyone know that the August 2006 issue of BROCOMI is up on the site.

This month is Leave it to Piyoko chapters 3 and 4.

And we happened to have an autographed copy of Leave it to Piyoko vol 1 by Hina., so we gave it away to the 10th caller.

Wing from San Francisco, CA won!
Congratulations!

Thank you for all those who emailed.

It usually takes us 24 hours to hit the magic number, but this time we had lots more people participate. Although it’s still only 26 people. Soon, I might be able to say “30th caller wins!”

We had another give-away for the Broccoli Books fan club.

Ivette from Pennsylvania won
an autographed Yoki Koto Kiku manga by Koge-Donbo!

Thank you for all those who emailed.

A note to those who think they might be too late.
Lots of people don’t email right away.

Well, there’s always the first 5 people who send an email 3 seconds after they get the mailing list. But I think people give up & don’t email, thinking “they probably got 13 people emailing them.”

No.
Like last time, it took almost 24 hours to get to the 13th caller.

So please email.
We won’t give your address away either.

We won’t stalk you either.

And I respond to each person who emails.
Well, nothing long.
But at least to tell you what caller you were.

The first Broccoli Books fan club mailer went out last night.

To celebrate our new (and still small) fan club, we had two give-aways.

Judy from Los Angeles, CA won
a limited edition Di Gi Charat Choro-Q!

Richard from Queens, NY won
an autographed Galaxy Angel vol 1 by Kanan!

I forgot to mention in the mailer that we don’t have a TON of people signed up yet (so sad!). And it seems like a lot of people thought we’d already be flooded w/ emails, but alas, our ML isn’t that big. So it took a while for us to get the 5th and 10th winners. In fact, almost all day. So sad!

Well, it’s still not too late to join!
