Hi blogger Shiz here.
Freelance editor Dee came by the office to work on the final touches of the My Dearest Devil Princess vol 3.
He selected three passages for the preview section, and we decided to go w/ the first sequence. It features Keita’s classmate Noroi. I’d like to describe him as a very Ranma 1/2-ish character. I think there was a character like him in the series… but I don’t really remember.
The other sequences were Chronos appearing (he’s one of Maki’s summons), and Maki getting drunk after drinking milk and yogurt. The latter (Maki drinking milk) was more ecchi & fan service-y, but I went with the comical Ranma 1/2-ish character. Sorry, guys.
I also went through to edit, and had freelance editor Dee re-write some of the lines.
And then he worked on the translation notes.
Oh, while we were editing, freelance editor Dee pointed out this frame

He first thought the text to the left was a note left there by manga artist Maika Netsu, since the lines of the chain-linked fence is missing. *laugh*
Natsuki is talking about drawing the track field lines… maybe we need to make it more clear.

Hi, blogger Shiz here.
Graphics assistant Cno is starting to work on the extra pages for My Dearest Devil Princess vol 3.
The way the color pages are inserted in the Japanese book… we only have room for 2 pages in the front of the book. So it’s going to be the title page & table of contents. All other information we put in the front of the book will be sent to the back of the book.
Otherwise, we won’t be able to insert the color pages. It’s so complicated.
Freelance editor Dee is coming by this week to work on the extra pages that are going in the back of the book… altho there are no new summons in vol 3, so what will we include in the back? Probably more pages for the preview section.
Oh, we came into the office today b/c we took last Friday off. Last Friday was our “summer vacation” to make up for working 4th of July weekend. We ignore Labor Day b/c there are conventions during this weekend… but we didn’t go to any this year.

Hi, blogger Shiz here.
We received the first draft of My Dearest Devil Princess vol 3 from freelance layout staffer Erikat. Graphics assistant Cno printed out the pages, although there were a few files missing, so we need to get them from Erikat.
Freelance editor Dee will be working on the edit on this book with me, so he should be starting on it later this week.
If everything goes smoothly, My Dearest Devil Princess vol 3 will go on sale October 2008.

Hi blogger Shiz here.
Currently swamped by doing customer service emails & catching up with convention requests for donations and the like.
Basu Gasu Bakuhatsu sent in their review of My Dearest Devil Princess vol 2 a looooong time ago, but I forgot to link to it.
Happy reading!

Hello, blogger Shiz here.
I’m cheating with this blog… I’m posting the last three blog entries on Wed night.
It’s because I did a lot of production work on Wed… which is because I’ve been procrastinating for a week. Well, my work is just “assigning work to other people,” so some of you may not say it’s really work… but the heaviest thing I carry is a pen! (Hmm, I think that’s a Japanese saying. Does the meaning come across in English?)
Anyhoo, I wanted to spread out the blog entries so I can procrastinate on the blog writing. No that I don’t like to blog, because I think I spend half my non-work hours blogging. The other half is spent sleeping, but I digress. (I’m rambling because it’s actually really late & I’m super sleepy)
Anyhoo 2.
I finally got around to assigning My Dearest Devil Princess vol 3 layout work to freelance layout staffer Erikat. I saw her at Comic Con too. *waves*
But I realized we haven’t worked on the cover design for My Dearest Devil Princess vol 3. Damn… time to contact freelance designer Chris. But do we have materials? Time to have graphics assistant Cno look around…

Hi, blogger Shiz here.
JIVE sent us a copy of Comic Rush August 2008 issue, and in the front color pages, the editorial staff did a 4-page article on Fanime Con 2008.
My Dearest Devil Princess manga artist Maika Netsu was the guest of honor at Fanime, and it has lots of photos from the event.

Pick up a copy at your local import book store!

Hi this is Yukiko!
How are you all doing?
Few days ago, we received My Dearest Devil Princess Banner!!
I took a photo of the banner today.

You can take a look at the banners at the Broccoli booth at Anime Expo and Comic-Con.
Also, My Dearest Devil Princess character page on BroccoliBooks.com has been updated!
Graphics Assistant Cno scanned the images and updated the page, so please take a look at that too.

Hi blogger Shiz here.
We received the translation for My Dearest Devil Princess vol 3, and sent it off to rewriter Elizabeth.
I realized we haven’t really worked on the My Dearest Devil Princess vol 3 cover for distributor purposes, so I’ll have to assign that to someone. (again, using the blog as my production check-off list)
I also took a look at the My Dearest Devil Princess character page on BroccoliBooks.com. It needs to be updated with new characters, since more characters appear in vol 2, and a certain character starts to play a major role in vol 3. So I sent the assignment to production staffer Yukiko & graphics assistant Cno, so it should be updated soon.
Shoot, I haven’t done the autographed book give-away on the Broccoli Books fan club too.

Hello, blogger Shiz dying from COSMODE USA crunch time.
Broccoli USA staffer Ryojin brought back a bunch of things My Dearest Devil Princess manga artist Maika Netsu-sensei signed for us at Fanime 2008.
Here’s the shikishi board Netsu-sensei drew for our office:

And she signed three My Dearest Devil Princess vol 1 for the Broccoli Books Fan Club Give-Away.

Once COSMODE USA is done, I’ll send out a fan club mailer (which we’ve ignored for too long) to give them away. What would be a good contest/game for the give-away?

Blogger Shiz here.
I haven’t posted reviews in a while… it’s probably because former Broccoli International sales manager Ardith stopped sending me links from the Google blog search thingie.
Anyway, here’s a review of My Dearest Devil Princess vol 2 by Comics Village
Happy reading!
