Hi, blogger Shiz here.

JIVE sent us a copy of Comic Rush August 2008 issue, and in the front color pages, the editorial staff did a 4-page article on Fanime Con 2008.

My Dearest Devil Princess manga artist Maika Netsu was the guest of honor at Fanime, and it has lots of photos from the event.

Pick up a copy at your local import book store!

Hi blogger Shiz here.

We received the translation for My Dearest Devil Princess vol 3, and sent it off to rewriter Elizabeth.

I realized we haven’t really worked on the My Dearest Devil Princess vol 3 cover for distributor purposes, so I’ll have to assign that to someone. (again, using the blog as my production check-off list)

I also took a look at the My Dearest Devil Princess character page on BroccoliBooks.com. It needs to be updated with new characters, since more characters appear in vol 2, and a certain character starts to play a major role in vol 3. So I sent the assignment to production staffer Yukiko & graphics assistant Cno, so it should be updated soon.

Shoot, I haven’t done the autographed book give-away on the Broccoli Books fan club too.

Hello, blogger Shiz dying from COSMODE USA crunch time.

Broccoli USA staffer Ryojin brought back a bunch of things My Dearest Devil Princess manga artist Maika Netsu-sensei signed for us at Fanime 2008.

Here’s the shikishi board Netsu-sensei drew for our office:

And she signed three My Dearest Devil Princess vol 1 for the Broccoli Books Fan Club Give-Away.

Once COSMODE USA is done, I’ll send out a fan club mailer (which we’ve ignored for too long) to give them away. What would be a good contest/game for the give-away?

Blogger Shiz here.
I haven’t posted reviews in a while… it’s probably because former Broccoli International sales manager Ardith stopped sending me links from the Google blog search thingie.

Anyway, here’s a review of My Dearest Devil Princess vol 2 by Comics Village

Happy reading!

Hi, this is blogger Shiz.

We finally received our copies of My Dearest Devil Princess vol 2, so production staffer Yukiko is busy packing them up to send samples to reviewers.

This is the volume with the ecchi cover.
See this earlier blog entry, if you haven’t seen the cover yet.

Hopefully bookstores won’t be upset about it not being shrinkwrapped. But the content isn’t that ecchi… I swear!

Please look for it at your local bookstores.
Or buy from dot-anime.us

Hi this is Yukiko!

We received the color materials for My Dearest Devil Princess Volumes 3, 4 and 6. Oh, by the way, we have received all of the color materials for volume 5.

There were a few missing files for our color materials for volumes 3, 4 and 6, so we asked the staff in Japan to send us the missing files. We were missing a few pink layer files. Let me explain what “pink layer” is since Designer Chris explained in details.

When we get cover materials, we sometimes get files that look like inverted grayscale images along with our color files. These inverted images are used to print an extra ink to go along with the standard 4 color process. Designer Chris calls this “pink layer” since the color of the ink is usually pink. Without the pink layer a skin tone tends to look more yellow-ish, and that is not good. The pink layer tells the printer what parts of the image to add more or less pink ink.

In the US, we almost always print using only 4 colors, so Designer Chris takes the pink layer file and somehow combines it with the normal color file to make the color more closer to the Japanese cover. It’s not perfect, but it’s much better than yellow-ish skin! That’s why it’s important to also have the pink layer.

Oh ho!
I think we’re going to get blasted for the cover art of My Dearest Devil Princess vol 2.

What do you think?

We wanted a cover art that featured both Maki and Miki, so we requested this art. But when we requested it, we had only seen the black & white version that was in the Japanese manga. We didn’t think it would be so ecchi in color!

My Dearest Devil Princess vol 3 and vol 4 will probably use the original Japanese covers. Unless these alternate color art are popular.
