Well, these bags aren’t exactly new… for some reason AnimeGamers.com never got them in stock.

Here are the two new Puchiko bags from MythWear:

I’m particularly fond of this one:

The official title is…
TBS, Pony Canyon and Broccoli presents: Di Gi Charat panel

Producer Suzuki-kun of Broccoli Japan & I exchanged several emails to get the order of the sponsors.

It was like… should it be in alphabetical order? Amount of sponsorship? Who’s the bigger name? Who has the biggest ego?

I think it’s tough being the middle-man producer.

Anyway, here are some of the details of the Di Gi Charat panel.

Date: Sunday, July 2, 2006
Time: 6:30pm - 8:30pm
Location: Live Programming 2

Panelists:
Koge-Donbo, creator
Producer Suzuki (Broccoli)
Producer Nakayama (TBS)
Producer Nakamura (Pony Canyon)

Schedule of events (subject to change):
History of Di Gi Charat
- Video letter from director Hiroaki Sakurai & Dejiko voice actress Asami Sanada
- Clips of past Di Gi Charat shows
- Panelist discussion
World premiere of the NEW Di Gi Charat anime
- 3-minute promotional video
- Character design sketches
- Panelist discussion
Question & Answer session
Raffle & give-aways

I convinced producer Suzuki to do lots of give-aways.

#1 - gift bag for every attendee!
And there will be a special surprise to 10 lucky attendees…
naisho naisho

#2 - postcard featuring the new Di Gi Charat anime character design for every attendee!
This will be passed out at the end, b/c producer Suzuki wanted to have a nice big surprise of the character designs during the world premiere…
dun dun dun!

#3 - special gift for cosplayers who dress up as Di Gi Charat characters!
We’re also thinking of opening it up to people who wear a Dejiko, Puchiko, Coo hat… or even the BGG arm band. Depends on how many gifts producer Suzuki can carry in his luggage.

#4 - bonus gift for attendees who bring the Di Gi Charat panel invitation!
Invitation? It will be sent out to members of the Broccoli Books Fan Club later this week… and probably mentioned on the blog when it gets closer to Anime Expo.

#5 - special raffle prizes for 10-20 lucky attendees!
Autograph boards from director Sakurai-san, character designer XXXXXXXX-san (I’m not sure if I’m allowed to reveal it yet), voice actress Sanada-san, and of course creator Koge-Donbo. Plus a few gift packages w/ Koge-Donbo autographs.

So many things to give away.
We need to find staffers to help w/ the event.

Taihen nyo~

FACES magazine contacted us sometime last year to conduct an interview w/ Koge-Donbo for their Japan issue.

So we helped translate questions & answers, and the interview is on the January 2006 issue of FACES Magazine:

Some of you might have been wondering what happened to the rest of Leave it to Piyoko manga.

Leave it to Piyoko volume 2 was put on hold while we waited for the DVD to be released. Originally, Leave it to Piyoko volume 1 was scheduled to be released alongside the Leave it to Piyoko DVD volume 1… but DVDs are a complicated monster & the manga came out waaaay before the DVD did.

So we had to put the second volume of the manga on hold while we got the DVDs ready.

Anyway, now that Leave it to Piyoko DVD volume 2 will be coming out in January 2006, we asked layout staff Dennis to get the materials ready for us. We received our first draft of Leave it to Piyoko volume 2 & we’ll start going over it this week.

It’s been a long wait, but we’re all excited at Broccoli Books to get to start working on one of our favorite manga series.

We were contacted by the props master for an upcoming TV show called “What About Brian?”

According to TV junkie sales manager Ardith, it’s a mid-season show about a game developer.

The props guy wanted some anime junk to scatter around the set, b/c the characters on the show are s’posed to like anime stuff.

We’re giving them a bunch of Di Gi Charat, Galaxy Angel & Juvenile Orion goodies like figures, hats, t-shirts & stuff.

So maybe we’ll see glimpses of Dejiko, Milfeulle or even Kaname on the tube.
