Man, I’m doing a lot of production related work lately.
Maybe because in one week, I’ll be working at home recovering from my mini surgery. But I digress.

I went through the final check for Koi Cupid vol 1 so it can be sent out to our printer. I haven’t been able to do this “final check” for a while, but I also did have editors to fall back on before.

The final check thru involves tedious tasks like making sure all the page numbers are correct & they match the information on the table of contents. Good thing Koi Cupid doesn’t have chapter titles, cuz that’s an extra thing to check.

BTW, the Japanese chapter headers were “1 Kyuu” “2 Kyuu”… but we realized (more than half way through production) that it doesn’t make any sense in English, so we changed it to “Love 1″ “Love 2.”

Another thing I checked for was making sure all Japanese terms were included in the translation notes. We missed “Koge-Donbo” and “Comi Deji” in the aftertalk section, so I had designer Chris add them in.

Koi Cupid vol 1 will be hitting stores in late May/early June.
If we’re lucky, we’ll have them for Fanime.

Hrm… Koi Cupid isn’t available on dot-anime.us. I gotta talk to retail manager Dennis about this.

We got the Koi Cupid logo from our freelance designer Knuckles, and the cover is all finished yesterday.
Since we need to get approval from Japan first, the files are sent to Japan yesterday too.
When we get the approval, we will update the Koi Cupid page in BroccoliBooks website and also put the cover design here.

We should be receiving an reply from Japan next week.
The other materials are sent to approval too, so we are almost ready to go to print!

Happy girls day!
What a perfect day to be posting about Koi Cupid.

We asked freelance designer Knuckles to work on the Koi Cupid logo, and she just submitted couple of drafts. I really liked one of them, so I’m asking her to make a few fixes and it’ll be all finalized.

Then we’ll have the final versions of the cover art completed for Koi Cupid vol 1 - 3.

Oh yeah, I have to work on the Koi Cupid vol 1 final check through.
Time to get working…

We are currently editing Koi Cupid Volume 1.
There are some little things that needs to be changed, so we are doing our best to make it complete as possible.
Right now our rewriter Jason and I are making small changes to the dialogues of the characters.

Koi Cupid is very cute story, so all of our staff are making sure that the words are not too aggressive.

The edits are almost complete!
When we finish all of the edits, I can give the packet to Shizuki for final edit!

We received the Koi Cupid vol 2 re-write script back from re-writer Jason today.
Production staffer Yukiko will look over any notes before sending it off to layout staffer Brian.

Speaking of which… how is Koi Cupid vol 1 coming along?
Time to bug the designer Chris & production staffer Yukiko. I could have sworn freelancer Dee went through the 2nd edit last week.

We received the translation for Koi Cupid vol 2 from translator Rie today.

There are few more characters that appear in the 2nd volume, so she updated the style guide for us. If the characters are important, I’ll have production staffer Yukiko & graphics assistant C-No update the BroccoliBooks.com website.

Time to send the script over to re-writer Jason.
