Long time no write. My age is finally catching up to me & I’m having a hard time recovering from attending conventions… I really need to let the younger staff at Broccoli go to those things.

Anyhoo, we just got back the re-write script for NUI vol 1 from re-writer Jan.

We were contacted by JIVE a while back, but apparently there was a mistake in the Japanese comic book release & the inside color pages (there were 4 color pages in the middle of the book) were placed out of order. So production staffer Yukiko has to make adjustments to the script (she had translated them in the order they appeared in the Japanese manga) before it goes to the layout staff.

I think we were shooting for a May or June release for NUI vol 1, and it looks like it’s creeping into June.

Since it is a beginning of a new month, our top banner image changed!
I think the banner for this month is very cute too.

Yesterday, I sent the translation file of Nui! Volume 1 to our rewriter Jan.
She started working on the rewrite from today.

By the way, Nui! will be available on June!

I really like spring!

Right now, I am working on Nui! Volume 2 translation.
I think I got use to translating a little bit more since this is my second time.
Translating can sometimes be hard since Japanese and English are very different languages, but when I come up with a good translation I will be very happy!
I think that is the fun part of translating.

It is progressing smoothly, so I think I can probably finish by end of next week.

Anyhoo, we received sola vol 1 translation from translator Azusa.
And production staffer Yukiko finished the translation for NUI vol 1.

We recruited a new re-writer Jan to work on sola vol 1 and NUI vol 1.

Hmm. I realized we haven’t worked on the sola vol 1 cover design. Do we even have a finalized version of the sola synopsis? I guess I should send the draft over to re-writer Jan to spiffy up. (Once again, I’m using this blog as a things-to-do notepad)

We’re also going through the second round of edits for Koi Cupid vol 1. I just handed the packet to freelancer Dee today. I guess I should start looking over it soon… but I still have World of Disgaea 2 and Sex Friend sitting on my desk. Eep!

It doesn’t help that I hurt my thumb… you wouldn’t think I’d need my left hand to edit a book, but how do I hold onto the Japanese book while I write notes with my right hand? My finger has blown up 1.5 times the size since I took the picture on the dot-anime blog. Everyone keeps telling me to go see a doctor. *sigh*

Nui vol 1 cover has been approved, and the artwork is being distributed to retailers & press now.

It’s pretty much the same as the Japanese cover.
The only change is the author’s name. Her 3 kanji characters used to be in their own little patchwork squares, but we merged it into one & added the English name.

Anyway, we started working on the NUI vol 1 translations.
Occasionally we have an in-house staff work on the translations, and production staffer Yukiko has volunteered herself to work on the project.

Designer Chris is working on the NUI vol 1 and vol 2 covers right now.
I have to go look at them on the server. So much easier if he just sent me the PDFs. (Once again, I’m using this blog as a notepad. Maybe Designer Chris will read it and will send me the file. I’m being so passive-aggressive!)

NUI vol 1 will be available in May 2008.
