Our layout staffer Brian finished sola Volume 1 layout last week.
We can start doing the first edit!
I am in the middle of reading through the book right now.
The artwork of this series is very cute.

By the way, I really like taking or seeing the picture of the sky too like Yorito!
I think Yorito is really nice character in this book.

Anyway, we will do our best and edit this manga!

Our new rewriter Jan finished rewrite for sola volume 1.
After looking through the script, we can send the materials to our layout staff Brian.

Right now, designer Chris is preparing the CDR of the manga contents so that Brian can do the layout.
I will go and ship out the materials when the package is ready.

The artwork of sola is very cute, so we are all excited to see the layout of this title!

But just in case, this is blogger Shiz.

Anyhoo, we received sola vol 1 translation from translator Azusa.
And production staffer Yukiko finished the translation for NUI vol 1.

We recruited a new re-writer Jan to work on sola vol 1 and NUI vol 1.

Hmm. I realized we haven’t worked on the sola vol 1 cover design. Do we even have a finalized version of the sola synopsis? I guess I should send the draft over to re-writer Jan to spiffy up. (Once again, I’m using this blog as a things-to-do notepad)

We’re also going through the second round of edits for Koi Cupid vol 1. I just handed the packet to freelancer Dee today. I guess I should start looking over it soon… but I still have World of Disgaea 2 and Sex Friend sitting on my desk. Eep!

It doesn’t help that I hurt my thumb… you wouldn’t think I’d need my left hand to edit a book, but how do I hold onto the Japanese book while I write notes with my right hand? My finger has blown up 1.5 times the size since I took the picture on the dot-anime blog. Everyone keeps telling me to go see a doctor. *sigh*

sola vol 1 is currently being translated by translator Azusa.

We hadn’t worked on the sola style guide yet, so production staffer Yukiko, freelancer Dee & I are putting it together.

Couple issues we’ve hit are:
* Should Yorito call his sister “nee-san,” “sis” or something else?
* Should Koyori use honorifics when addressing others? Or should it be Miss/Mr?
* What do you call Tomato Shiruko!?

When a title is a multimedia property, it’s difficult to make a decision without putting other issues into consideration.

I think Tomato Shiruko is tomato-infused red bean soup.

Freelance Dee thinks calling it “soup” doesn’t give an image that it’s a sweet drink, so he wants to call it tomato and red bean juice. Of course if a longer description fits, he wants to call it tomato and red bean flavored drink (or something like that).

These are things that get discussed late at night.

About sola
sola is a continuing series serialized through the monthly Japanese seinen manga Dengeki Daioh, which is published by MediaWorks.

Yorito is a high school student who likes to take photographs of the sky. A chance meeting introduces him to Matsuri, but she is no ordinary girl—it turns out that she’s actually a 350 year-old Yaka, an immortal being that cannot go out into the light! As such, Matsuri has been forced to live a life of solitude, and Yorito is the first friend she’s ever had. But there is much more to the Yaka than first meets the eye, and a sword-wielding man named Takeshi seems intent on harming Matsuri, but for what reason? Thrust into a supernatural battle, will Yorito have the courage to protect their friendship for Matsuri’s sake?

Chako Abeno is a prolific illustrator and manga artist whose works include the manga in white Pure Story and My-Otome zwei.

About sola project
The manga sola is part of a huge mixed media venture known as sola project, which encompass manga, anime, drama CDs, music CDs, and internet radio shows. All of them are based off of the original story by Naoki Hisaya and character designs by Naru Nanao. Naoki Hisaya is most widely known for being the main writer for the highly successful visual novel Kanon while working under Key/Visual Art’s. Naru Nanao is a famous character designer whose works include the original character designs for the D.C. ~Da Capo~ visual novel by Circus and the female character design for the game series Ef: A Fairy Tale of the Two by Minori.

The animated sola was well received in Japan, earning the best anime that aired in 2007 in a poll from the company Spider Networks. Over 2 million votes in Japan were tallied for sola to result in first place.
