So here’s a sneak peak of the FLCL Ultimate Edition DVD menus.

Designer Chris said “People are gonna say it looks like the iPod ads, but it’s a design concept that’s been around for a long time.”

So please feel free to comment “It’s like the iPod ads” in the comment section.

The image above is two of the DVD menu screens.
It’s going to be animated by scrolling sideways.

So it starts with the silhouette of Haruko on her vespa.
And whatever option you select, it’ll scroll to the right or left, depending on where the menu is located.

A little dizzy-ing?
Yes.
For older generation kids who aren’t used to fast moving images on screen like first-person shooter video games. I get car sick watching those games.

Each disc uses different colors.
So disc 1 is pink & yellow.
Disc 2 is green & blue.
Disc 3 is purple & grey.

    He’s quite right. You can pick up any issue of Computer Arts Magazine and see lots of examples using that style. It’s fun. =)
