I’ve been meaning to announce the first winner of the FLCL t-shirt contest, but kept forgetting.
Anyhoo, the first winning design is Scarface Haruko.

Due to legal issues (or something), the FLCL t-shirt has been named “noir.”
Look for it in Hot Topic stores in late January.
And anime stores in early February.

Hmm… odd choice considering FLCL and Scarface are aimed at very different target audiences. I imagine this will only appeal to fans of both. Honestly, I’m disappointed. I was hoping for a shirt that would reflect FLCL’s trademark attitude and style, but instead we get this contrived parody.
I would buy a shirt about which people might say “Nice FLCL shirt!” but with this I’d expect to get more comments along the lines of “I don’t get it. Why is there a crazy Playboy bunny drawn like on the Scarface poster?”

i agree but admire flcl for the reason that it goes in so many different directions and genres

All the shirt that have been made so far reflects FLCL’s attitude style. I don’t think it’s a bad idea for this kind of shirt.

if some attention had been made to make the image fit with the pasted on bkg, it might be mroe interesting, it almost looks more like a layout of an idea than a finished product
