Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex "Tachikoma" Trading Figures
Available early December! It's the ultimate marketing ploy: Add a cute looking character to a series as comic relief so that you widen the general appeal. That's what they did when the Tachikoma was introduced to Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. Based on the Fuchikoma from the original Ghost in the Shell manga, these little buggers make me think that robot spider-things are our friends, unlike the horrible reality that one day the robots will take over and enslave all of humanity. The Tachikoma trading figures come in a rainbow of colors (shown). Items must be bought by the box, and each box contains a random assortment of 12. The preorder deadline is September 11. Bleach Banpresto Goods
Available in January! Yes, I do know that this image looks pretty bad. It's the best I could do at the moment. Just think of it as inspired by Sin City with its black, white and red color scheme. Anyway, it seems every show has one of those cute comic-relief characters. No one is safe! In Bleach's case it's Kon, the mischievous plush lion with the super-powered legs. What could be more cute than Kon? Well, how about Kon cosplaying as other characters from the show? Yes, that nearly doubles the cuteness factor.
